gobble..gobble..

So..for some moronic reason (still unbeknown to me @ 10:44am --the day BEFORE t-day).. Snappy and I decided to host turkey day dinner at our crib. ::enter blank face here:: My immediate family is already pretty small -- and with my dad and brother in jail, that just leaves me and my mom. Whoo hoo! More left overs for me, lol. But, Snappys side of the family is LARGE. His mom, two brothers, one sister, two nephews and a girlfriend will be there. Along with my BF, my godson and only sweet baby Jesus knows who else is going to stop through. Did I tell this is my first time hosting a meal for more than 2 people? Wait, I think I left out that me and Snappy only have a love seat in the living room right now....

Anywho.. Snappy works for a biotec company so he actually has to work on t-day and won't be home until after 7pm. Which means...yup, you guessed it -- I'll be ALONE prepping most of the meal :gulp:

Our menu is chock full of artery clogging goodness, Mmmmm... Turkey, stewed beef, peas & rice, 7 cheese mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, collard greens, potato salad, marinated italian veggie salad, cornbread stuffing and a bunch of desserts I plan on sticking my finger in, while no one is looking. Shhhhh....

Snappy claims he is going to start things tonight and help me 'prep', but I got me some education -- I know better! Yesterday he was going to chop the veggies [key word being GOING]... he was home ALL day, do you think anything got chopped? Of course not! But, that's ok, because a heffa like me got a plan - I'm drinkin' LOTS of wine. That's right-- I plan on being semi-inebriated on Tday, lol. Not sloppy fall down drunk, just slightly buzzed and only partially coherent. This way, I won't mind slicing, dicing, stirring and basting for several thankless hours, while I giggle to myself about nothing..
